1 found dead on Twenty Mile Road after report of argument, shots fired



DENVER (KDVR) — The Parker Police Department is looking for surveillance images or video of a homicide that occurred Tuesday evening near the city’s skate park.

The agency said that at approximately 6:35 p.m., Parker police officers responded to a call for shots fired near South Twenty Mile Road and East Longs Way, which is near the Railbender Skate Park.

Witnesses told police that two vehicles were stopped alongside each other in the area and a “disagreement ensued.” Multiple gunshots were heard and one vehicle left the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a dead male victim near his vehicle.

At about 10:20 p.m., the Parker Police Department said it had located a person of interest and the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident. The agency thanked the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for assisting, as well as community members who have shared tips.

The person of interest and the cars involved have not been identified by police.

The police department first reported the matter at about 6:40 p.m. on social media as a “suspicious incident” that resulted in a heavy police presence in the area.

The Parker Police Department’s Investigation Division, as well as crime scene investigators and the Douglas County Coroners’ Office, responded to continue the investigation and identify the victim and suspect.
