DENVER (KDVR) — Dozens of drivers were cited for driving over the speed limit on Interstate 25 on Wednesday morning.
The Thornton Police Department said in a post on X that its officers issued 46 citations within a span of 90 minutes.
Of those, police said that most drivers were traveling at more than 20 mph over the speed limit. The limit is 65 mph in the area and decreases to 55 mph closer to Denver.
One of the drivers was caught traveling at 106 mph in a 65 mph zone,” police said.
“We all want to get where wer’re going, but those speeds can be deadly. Slow down and get there safely,” the police department said.
