DENVER (KDVR) — Some residents in Parker were told to shelter in place while police were in the area of Cottonwood and Canterberry Crossing neighborhoods on Tuesday morning.
At 7 a.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued two shelter-in-place orders in the area of Maple Crest Drive and Clover Meadow Lane and Blackwolf Drive and Canterberry Trail in Parker due to police activity in the area. Just before 9 a.m., the shelter-in-place orders were lifted.
People in the area were asked to go inside immediately and stay inside until further notice. The shelter-in-place order said to lock all doors and not to let anyone inside homes or businesses.
A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told FOX31 that there was law enforcement activity at both locations, and it’s part of an “ongoing investigation.” Since it’s still an active investigation, the sheriff’s office said it couldn’t provide more details at this time.
This is a developing story and this post will be updated when more information becomes available.
