4 arrested in Greeley during search warrant service for 'rampant criminal activity'

DENVER (KDVR) — The Greeley Police Department said officers were met with resistance while attempting to execute a search warrant on Thursday morning, leading to the arrest of four people.

The agency said that it was at a residence in the 1300 block of 11th Avenue at about 10 a.m. on Thursday to serve a search warrant related to “allegations of rampant criminal activity.”

The agency said that officers tried to get the people inside the residence to voluntarily comply with their orders, but the efforts failed. Instead, individuals inside the residence and in an adjacent detached garage refused to exit the structures, which the police department said was a safety risk to officers, residents and bystanders.

The Greeley Police Department’s SWAT team used a noise diversionary device to disorient the suspects inside the home, then “chemical munitions” to draw the suspects out of the detached garage.

The agency said the chemical munitions were effective in making the suspects in an upper level of the house surrender, as well as several who had been hiding inside the garage attic.

The Greeley Police Department said it arrested four people and provided medical attention on scene. They were all transferred to the North Jail Complex and booked on unrelated warrants.

Those arrested were identified by the police department as:

  • Geoffrey Rocha, 37
  • Anthony Ornelas, 40
  • Felicia Ybarra, 39
  • Vincent Romero, 36

All of the suspects are scheduled to appear in court on either Sept. 18 or 19, according to Colorado court records. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Det. Max Moree at [email protected] or 970-350-9549.
