DENVER (KDVR) — When people think of stray cats, they think of scruffy-looking ones, whose silhouettes leap from rooftop to rooftop in the moonlight, and can bite the fish clean off the bone, leaving a full skeleton straight out of a “Tom & Jerry” scene.
What they don’t think of is a white cat with neatly combed fur and a pink bow.
For Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies, that’s exactly what they found after reports were made about a cat lingering around the home of a person near South Dayton Street and East Peakview Avenue.
When they arrived at the location, they discovered Lulu, a fluffy Scottish Fold cat who was wearing a pink bow. A social media post from the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office described her as the “bougiest stray cat we’ve ever seen.”
The deputies said that Lulu decided to flee to the streets while in the care of a cat sitter.
She was taken and scanned to see if she had a microchip, and lo and behold — she did.
“Her pink bow may have charmed her way through the neighborhood, but it was her microchip that saved the day,” said the post.
The sheriff’s office also wanted to remind the public that Animal Services won’t pick up a stray cat unless it’s injured or is sick. Some cats are free-roaming and always find their way back home.
To make sure they are safe, keep them inside and get them microchipped, the post said.
