DENVER (KDVR) — The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office had to say a big goodbye to a little friend, who passed away, the agency announced in a post on X.
The sheriff’s office’s Miniature Therapy Horse, Love Bug, passed away on Tuesday from internal bleeding.
Love Bug was a member of the Mounted Patrol Unit and would accompany the larger police horses at community events. The sheriff’s office said she would always bring smiles to adults and children alike.
Described as a sweet and gentle mini horse, she was trained to visit places like schools, hospitals and nursing care facilities to help bring a sense of ease and comfort to people who needed it.
June Bug’s end of watch was officially listed as Aug. 26, 2025.
“Love Bug, thank you for your service. Rest in peace, sweet girl,” the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said in the social media post.
