DENVER (KDVR) — A suspect was arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that took place in Green Valley Ranch on Monday, the Denver Police Department said in a press release on Wednesday.
On Sept. 1, around 12 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 4100 block of North Orleans Street. When the police arrived at the location, they found a woman who had been shot.
She was taken to a hospital but later died from her injuries.
Detectives identified a suspect in the shooting, 36-year-old Ashley Patterson. She was arrested on Tuesday.
Investigators said that the victim and Patterson had an altercation leading up to the shooting, with additional information indicating that the two had a previous history and may have been involved in other conflicts before the shooting.
Patterson faces a charge of first-degree murder.
The victim’s identity will be released by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner, police said.
