DENVER (KDVR) — Law enforcement is alerting the public to red flags after an undercover investigation led to a spa owner being arrested for allegedly offering sexual acts for money.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began after someone reported that he visited Mango Spa in Centennial for a massage and was offered sexual acts in exchange for money.
The agency’s Special Investigations Unit sent an undercover investigator to the spa on Oct. 2 around 7 p.m. According to a press release from ACSO, the investigator requested a massage and “at one point was offered sexual acts in exchange for money,” which was declined.
The spa employee and owner, identified as 46-year-old Sun Jingli, was arrested and booked into the Arapahoe County Jail for prostitution, the sheriff’s office said.
Now the sheriff’s office is warning the public of illegal activity at massage parlors and listed the following “red flags” to be aware of:
- Open 24 hours or late at night
- Only accepts cash
- No intake paperwork
- Doors are locked, and customers must be buzzed in
- Business looks unclean
- New rotation of employees, which could indicate human trafficking
The sheriff’s office said, “we all play a role in fighting crime,” and encourages anyone who sees anything suspicious to report it to law enforcement
