DENVER (KDVR) — A box truck fire alongside an exit ramp from Interstate 70 to C-470 on Monday afternoon has led to the closure of the ramp.
The fire is burning at the I-70 exit ramp to C-470 east, which is exit 260, leading to large flames and a plume of black smoke that was blowing across the exit ramp.
The area had seen rain earlier, but it’s unclear if that impacted the truck at all, or what had led to the fire.
The truck appeared to be still ablaze as of 5:30 p.m., and the driver’s door of the box truck cab was open. First responders were on scene and had water on the flames.
A FOX31 photojournalist captured video of a power pole near the blaze that appeared to catch on fire and fell on top of the truck. No firefighters were reportedly injured.
The truck appeared to sustain heavy damage.
