(PUEBLO, Colo.) — The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced that a joint press conference will be held with the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, to provide updates on the criminal investigation into Davis Mortuary.

The press conference can be watched live on the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office Facebook Page here.

According to CBI, 24 bodies were found at the mortuary, along with multiple containers of bones and several containers of what appeared to be human tissue, the total of which represented an unknown number of deceased individuals that have since been transferred to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office for identification.

During the press conference, the CBI will share the number of bodies that have been identified so far, describing the process as slow and methodical.

Both Brian and Chris Cotter have retained legal counsel, and CBI stated that they therefore have not been questioned at this time. During the press conference, CBI will further explain why it may take a while to file any criminal charges as the identification process continues.
