Colorado has one of the best, and one of the worst, baseball cities in the US: List

DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado is no stranger to America’s pasttime.

With a Major League Baseball team, college baseball teams around the state and an entire district in Denver built around a baseball stadium, it’s not difficult to find a way to enjoy America’s second most favorite sport in the Centennial State.

That being said, though, how well do Colorado’s cities fare among other “Baseball Cities” in the U.S.? A new ranking from WalletHub judged more than 300 American cities with professional or college baseball teams on how good of a baseball city they were, looking at things like team performance, stadium accessibility and fan engagement.

Three Colorado cities were on the list; one is in the top 30, and another is in the bottom 15 cities.

The Best and Worst Baseball cities in the US

Cities with MLB teams are naturally at the top of the list of best baseball cities, and Denver with the Colorado Rockies was no different.

Denver made the top 30 best baseball cities, coming in at No. 26. Denver, however, was among the worst-performing cities with an MLB team, which is not all that surprising considering the Rockies are coming off their worst season in franchise history.

Denver fared well on cheap ticket prices, but had some of the least-engaged fans and the second-worst performing team over a three-season average.
