COLORADO SPRINGS (KXRM) — The Colorado Springs Police Department reported that on Friday, Oct. 3, officers tracked down and arrested three people in connection with the vehicle theft of a Toyota Corolla from Aurora.
According to CSPD, on Tuesday, Sept. 30, the Aurora Police Department investigated a stolen gray 2006 Corolla that took place within the Aurora city limits when the vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition.
CSPD Motor Vehicle Theft detectives tracked down the car in Colorado Springs on Oct. 3, in the area of East Fountain Boulevard and South Chelton Road. According to CSPD, a marked vehicle tried to stop the Corolla, but it sped off to escape the police.
MVT detectives conducted surveillance and found the stolen vehicle again near the intersection of Boggs Place and Preuss Road, near Fountain and South Union Boulevard. Detectives made contact with three people: the driver, 25-year-old Tianna Quin, and two passengers, 26-year-old Mandy-Lee Miller and 55-year-old Lela Edwards.
According to CSPD, Quin and Miller were both charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, and Edwards had multiple warrants for her arrest. CSPD stated that Quin is a convicted Motor Vehicle Theft prolific offender. All three were taken to the Criminal Justice Center for booking.
