DENVER (KDVR) — That felt good, didn’t it?
The Denver Broncos looked to have taken a step in the right direction with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals during Monday Night Football.
Offense was clicking, and the defense became a fortress, resulting in a 28-3 win after two frustrating losses in back-to-back weeks.
In Week 5, the team will face its toughest opponent yet, the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles, at their home stadium.
Here’s everything to know about the Broncos’ fifth game of the season against the Eagles.

Key things to know about Broncos at Eagles
No taking prisoners
The Eagles are coming off the back of a Super Bowl win where they whooped up on the Kansas City Chiefs, 40-22. This season — they aren’t showing any signs of letting up.
The Eagles hold the distinct honor of being one of only two teams, including the Buffalo Bills, to hold an undefeated record through four weeks of football. However, the Broncos might have some hope, as the Eagles have only won each game within the range of one touchdown from the opponent, which would have given them a loss or a tie.
That’s the thing about champions, though. They just get the job done.
Dealing with Jets lag
The next two weeks might be a defining point in the Broncos’ season.
A matchup against the champions is always an uphill battle, but it also gives the players a marker to compare themselves with a team that has won it all. They will need to bring their A-game and all of their energy.
The players might want to preserve as much of that energy as they can, though, because it might be needed next week when the Broncos travel to London to play the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is the Starship Enterprise of stadiums.
When they return, they at least get to stay in Denver for two games, but international travel and shifting across time zones twice is no joke.
Momentum at the right time
He’s not Reggie Jackson, but Sean Payton has a claim for the title of “Mr. October.” He is the NFL’s all-time wins leader during October, standing above names like Bill Belichick and Earl “Curly” Lambeau, with his 44-14 record.
The Broncos were truly dominant over the Bengals on Monday. After going behind by three in the first quarter, the Broncos put their foot on the gas and never looked back, scoring four unanswered touchdowns.
That was the team’s final game in September and will hopefully offer them the confidence and momentum they need to beat the champs in their first game of the spookiest month — ghouls, witches and Halloween are scary, but Payton’s record in October is even scarier.
