Denver police looking for first degree murder suspect

DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department is looking for a suspect accused of stabbing a person to death on East Colfax Avenue earlier this month.

DPD said the suspect is 26-year-old Gabriel Ortiz Trujillo. He is described as a 5-foot-6-inch-tall Hispanic man with brown eyes, brown hair and a weight of 100 pounds.

The incident occurred on Oct. 3, 2025, at approximately 9:12 p.m. in the 8600 block of East Colfax Avenue, police said.

DPD said Trujillo currently has a warrant for murder in the first degree.
