Denver police seek help finding driver who hit multiple people on scooter



DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect from a hit-and-run that occurred on Saturday.

The incident occurred on Aug. 30 at 2:12 a.m. in the Central Business District neighborhood of Denver, according to a post on X from the Denver Police Department on Monday.

The crash involved multiple riders on a Lyft scooter and a red, late-model Nissan Murano SUV, which might have a Colorado license plate, police said.

The SUV was traveling northbound on Welton Street when the scooter crossed Welton Street at the intersection with 18th Street. The driver reportedly hit the scooter riders and fled the area without stopping.

Police are asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run to reach out to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $2,000.
