Denver weather: Cloudy start Sunday, sunny afternoon ahead

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver starts out Sunday with a bit of cloud cover along with rain and snow showers to the north and west.

The area could see an isolated shower or two in the first half of the day, but look for drier and sunnier conditions by the afternoon.

Weather today: Becoming sunny

Sunday begins with mostly cloudy skies and a few light showers sticking around. Clouds are forecast to move out of the area through the afternoon leaving Denver with mostly sunny conditions. Temperatures will depend on how quickly clouds clear, but highs below normal in the middle 70s are expected.

Weather tonight: Skies stay clear

Clear skies dominate the forecast for Sunday night as lows drop down into the upper 40s and lower 50s. Winds will remain out of the southeast anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead: Quiet week ahead

The extended forecast is looking relatively uneventful. Monday brings a lot of sunshine and temperatures spike into the middle 80s with a light south breeze. Tuesday will be mostly sunny, but cooler, with highs in the upper 70s. Some late evening and overnight showers will be possible Tuesday, but the forecast has trended drier.

It will stay in the 70s Wednesday and Thursday with sunny skies expected. It will briefly return to the low 80s Friday before hovering near 80 degrees through next weekend. For now, next weekend looks dry.
