Denver weather: Hit, mostly miss storms Sunday

DENVER (KDVR) — Although temperatures have stayed well below normal, the Denver weather pattern of late is struggling to produce any meaningful rainfall around the metro. Sunday will likely be more of the same.

Weather tonight: Dry for most

Seasonal temperatures overnight Saturday.

A few isolated showers will be possible overnight Saturday, but for the most part, it will stay dry. Temperatures will be seasonal with lows in the upper 50s on Sunday morning. Skies will be partly cloudy and winds will be southerly at around 10 mph.

Weather tomorrow: Trying for rain…again

Comfortably warm Sunday, but hotter in the southeast.

Sunday will be almost cut-and-paste from Saturday. The metro will be dry in the morning with partly-to-mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures in the afternoon will top out near 80 degrees and it will be somewhat humid. Showers and storms will try to get firing again in the afternoon, but the best chance for rain will remain in the high country.

Looking ahead: September-like temperatures ahead

Monday and Tuesday will be the best chance for rain in the Denver metro. Scattered downpours may result in quick rain totals of up to one inch in some locations. Temperatures both days will only be in the lower and middle 70s, well below the normal high of 86 degrees.

Storm chances persist through next week with below normal temperatures.

The forecast begins to dry out starting Wednesday, but rain chances will persist into next weekend. Highs will also moderate around 80 degrees, which is a high more typical of late September than late August. For now, no 90-degree temperatures appear through the start of September.
