DENVER (KDVR) — Warmer-than-normal temperatures and the chance for a few afternoon showers remain in Denver’s weather forecast Thursday, ahead of a more seasonal weekend.

A flood watch remains in effect through Thursday night for parts of central, western and southwestern Colorado. During this time, rain from thunderstorms could be heavy and lead to flooding.
Weather tonight: Mainly cloudy, mild
Showers and thunderstorms will wrap up, mostly in the high country, on Wednesday evening, ahead of a dry, mainly cloudy night. Low temperatures will fall to the upper 50s, which is a little more than 5 degrees above normal for this time of year.

Weather tomorrow: Warm, afternoon storm chance
Thursday, clouds will increase as temperatures climb to the mid to upper 80s, which is 5 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. There is a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, mostly in higher elevations and in the eastern plains, but a few could stay together in the Denver metro as well.

Looking ahead: More storm chances, cooler
Friday will start off partly sunny, ahead of scattered showers and storms by the afternoon. Temperatures will be cooler, but more seasonal, with high temperatures only reaching the lower 80s.

Saturday will be the coolest day of the weekend, with high temperatures only reaching the upper 70s as showers and thunderstorms develop by the afternoon. Sunshine and a slight warming trend will move in on Sunday through the start of the workweek.
