Denver weather: More rain today, cool all week long

DENVER (KDVR) — Isolated showers and storm chances continue on Sunday, mainly in the late afternoon and early evening hours as the cool trend continues in Denver weather.

Weather today: Rain chances continue

Sunday will be almost cut-and-paste from Saturday. The metro will be dry in the morning with partly-to-mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures in the afternoon will top out near 80 degrees and it will be somewhat humid.

Showers and storms will try to get firing again in the late afternoon and early evening, with lingering showers overnight.

Weather tonight: Showers taper off

Light, steady rain showers move back into Denver, approaching 10 p.m. It won’t last too long, only until around midnight or so. Overnight lows drop down into the upper 50s and lower 60s with winds out of the north and east, anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead: September-like temperatures ahead

Monday and Tuesday will be the best chance for rain in the Denver metro. Scattered downpours may result in quick rain totals of up to one inch in some locations. Temperatures both days will only be in the lower and middle 70s, well below the normal high of 86 degrees.

The forecast begins to dry out starting Wednesday, but rain chances will persist into next weekend. Highs will also moderate around 80 degrees, which is a high more typical of late September than late August. For now, no 90-degree temperatures appear through the start of September.
