DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver weather forecast this weekend will be a kind of 50/50 split. The Pinpoint Weather Team is expecting scattered storms Saturday afternoon (especially in the mountains), but drier weather Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures this weekend will be slightly below normal with highs in the upper 70s. Winds will be a bit breezy on Saturday afternoon.
Weather tonight: Light showers possible

Expect mostly cloudy conditions overnight Friday with some spotty light showers. Temperatures will fall into the lower and middle 50s across eastern Colorado, but the high country will cool into the 40s for most. The mountain valleys will likely fall well into the 30s Saturday morning.
Weather tomorrow: Scattered storms

The mountains will be active on Saturday with periodic showers and thunderstorms all day. Depending on temperatures, some of the highest mountain peaks may also experience a brief period of a rain/snow mix.
Areas along and east of Interstate 25 will see thunderstorms in the afternoon. The severe weather threat is low, but any stronger storms may produce gusty winds and hail.
Looking ahead: Drier and mild next week
Showers will linger into the early morning hours Sunday before the region dries out and skies clear. Temperatures will be in the 70s. The metro region will briefly jump into the lower 80s on Monday with sunny skies before temperatures fall into the 70s again starting Tuesday.

Next week’s forecast is mostly dry, but isolated showers and storms will be possible on Tuesday and possibly on Wednesday. Temperatures will stay near or slightly below normal in the upper 70s, near 80 degrees. Nighttime lows will also get cooler with morning temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.
