DENVER (KDVR) — Saturday morning starts off with light rain showers in the Denver weather forecast across northeast Colorado, but those showers will fizzle out by the mid-morning hours and make way for more sunshine.
High temperatures this afternoon will be comfortable with sunshine, this is ahead of a cooldown with more rain by next week.

Weather today: Sunny skies
There will be some sunshine on Saturday with a few showers or thunderstorms in the Colorado mountains. A stray shower or two could drift off the higher terrain and reach the Front Range and Denver metro area, but most will remain dry. Temperatures will stay just above the seasonal average with readings expected in the low 80s across the eastern plains and 60s to 70s in the high country.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy and cool
Some clouds move back into the forecast tonight, as lows drop into the middle 50s under partly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the southwest anywhere from 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead: Rain chances and cooler next week
More sunshine and mild air is on the way for us on Sunday with highs in the lower 80s under partly cloudy skies. Fall arrives on Monday and with it a storm system that will slide a cold front south across the Front Range and cool temperatures to the 70s, then 60s, for the start of the work week. There will also be a chance for showers especially later on Monday and into Tuesday.

The weather will dry out on Wednesday through Friday and temperatures will slowly warm back into the 70s and could reach seasonal levels in the upper 70s by Friday.
