Denver weather: Warm and sunny Sunday

DENVER (KDVR) — Denver’s weather forecast warms up Sunday just in time for Broncos gameday.

High temperatures will max out in the middle to lower 70s under mostly sunny skies, and the frost advisory/freeze warnings that the area saw Sunday morning have expired.

Denver did hit the first freeze of this fall as DIA dropped down around freezing earlier Sunday morning.

Weather today: Beautiful day ahead

Thanks to the return of southerly winds, our highs will boost into the middle and upper 70s, warming over 40 degrees since the frosty start to this morning. Plenty of sunshine will be found up and down the Front Range.

Weather tonight: Partly cloudy

Partly cloudy skies dominate the area overnight as lows drop into the middle 40s. Winds will be out of the southwest anywhere from 5-15 mph

Looking Ahead: Quiet and Seasonal

Although a couple of cold fronts slide through Denver this week, many of them will be dry for the metro with only some central and north mountain rain/snow showers Sunday night along the first front. This will knock our high temperatures back into the 60s for the first half of the week.

Sunshine prevails until we reach Thursday when a low pressure will pass to our south, bringing some mountain rain/snow and perhaps a rain shower to the Denver metro. Odds are favoring us remaining dry for now, but a noticeable increase in cloud cover will pass overhead on Thursday.
