Denver weather: Windy weather next couple days

DENVER (KDVR) — Cloudy and dreary conditions will soon give way to sunshine, but much windier conditions in the Denver weather forecast. Although the mountains will continue to see rain, most of eastern Colorado will stay dry.

Weather tonight: Clearing skies

Dry in east Colorado overnight Saturday, but more rain for the high country.

Skies will clear overnight Saturday, but temperatures will stay well above normal with lows only in the upper 40s to low 50s around Denver metro and eastern Colorado. Although the high country will see a brief break from the rain, more waves of occasionally heavy rainfall will come. Some of the highest elevations, 11,000 to 12,000 feet and above, may also see some snow.

Weather tomorrow: Sunny and windy

Drier Sunday, but windy.

Sunday sees a return of sunshine, but winds will also pick up thanks to a passing cold front in the late morning. This means dry conditions across the majority of Colorado. Winds will start from the southwest but turn to the northeast in the early afternoon. Winds will gust upwards of 30 miles per hour. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to mid 70s in northeast Colorado, with middle 80s in the southeast, and 50s and 60s in the west.

Looking ahead: See-sawing temperatures

Windy conditions continue on Monday with gusts upwards of 40 miles per hour possible. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly sunny with a slight chance of seeing a few showers, though most will stay dry. Highs will be in the low 60s.

Unseasonably warm October weather continues for much of the next week.

We’re back into the 70s for Tuesday. Wednesday sees temperatures trying to make a run at 80 degrees with gusty winds returning. We’ll cool off back to the 60s on Thursday with another chance for a few showers. Long-term the forecast still has uncertainty, but cooler air may finally settle in starting next weekend.
