
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KXRM) — The Colorado State Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash on I-25, near Fountain, which has closed the left lane near the exit for US-85, CanAm Highway.
According to CSP’s Public Information Office, the crash happened minutes before 6:30 a.m. on Friday.
Troopers report that a pick-up truck hauling a small trailer lost control and rolled into the center median, ejecting the driver from the cab while going north on I-25 at milepost 128, which is near the exit for CanAm Hwy.
Public Information Officer, Trooper Hunter Mathews, also confirmed the only occupant of the truck was the driver, an 85-year-old man from Arizona, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
CSP expects the left lane to be opened around 10 a.m. on Friday.
