Drone finds robbery suspect hiding after evading police



DENVER (KDVR) — A drone was used to find a man who allegedly committed a robbery and evaded police, according to a post on X from the Loveland Police Department.

Loveland police saw a motorcycle speeding with no rear light or license plate.

The officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver accelerated to almost 100 miles per hour before the pursuing officers called off the chase due to its circumstances.

Additional units were given the description of the motorcycle, and they searched the area.

After an extensive search, the motorcycle was seen again, and the driver sped away before crashing and beginning to run away on foot, the department said.

Partnering agencies joined the search, and a drone was eventually able to spot the suspect, who was hiding in a grassy area.

The man was taken into custody.

An investigation discovered that not only had the man evaded police, but he had allegedly committed a robbery and was also in possession of drugs, police said.

He was transported to the Larimer County Jail and faces multiple criminal charges.
