DENVER (KDVR) — Spider enthusiasts now have the opportunity to be face-to-face with the arachnid and its species worldwide, through a takeover at the city of Westminster’s Butterfly Pavilion.
The limited-time “Spiders Around the World Exhibition” opened Friday at the Butterfly Pavilion, giving visitors the opportunity to see spiders without glass or barriers.
“From bold tarantulas to delicate orb weavers, visitors will uncover the wonder, importance, and beauty of spiders from every corner of the globe,” said a spokesperson for the Butterfly Pavilion in a press release.
The exclusive exhibition includes a “Spider Zone,” where visitors can walk amongst hundreds of free-roaming orb-weavers spinning their webs. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the Colombian Pumpkin Patch Tarantula, Skeleton Leg Tarantula and Brazilian Fire Red Bird Eater.
The Butterfly Pavilion said it also showcases the vital role spiders play in keeping healthy ecosystems around the world, such as protecting crops, supporting biodiversity and maintaining balance in the natural world.
The exhibition runs through Oct. 31 and is included with general admission for those wanting to attend.
