AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — The families of a young couple killed in a Friday afternoon motorcycle crash say their loved ones were deeply in love.
The parents of Mariah Phillips and Sebastian Luevanos say the 17- and 18-year-olds were on a motorcycle on East Arapahoe Road when they were involved in a crash with a vehicle.
Aurora police say the motorcycle’s speed is “being investigated as a contributing factor.” The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Luevanos had graduated from Grandview High School last spring. Phillips had plans to graduate from high school in December and enroll at Arapahoe Community College. She had aspirations of becoming a certified nursing assistant.
Funeral services are pending.
The families of the young couple have established the following GoFundMe pages, one for Luevanos and a second one for Phillips.
Phillips’ family says she was also a dog rescue advocate and suggested “Hope for Paws Colorado” as another donation option, which can be found here.
