DENVER (KDVR) — West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in a small outbuilding off Mississippi Avenue near South Cody Street early Saturday.
WMFR said several calls to 911 reported seeing smoke and flames. The agency said it had to take a defensive position by fighting the fire from outside, due to cracks in brick walls showing the structure was “potentially unstable.”
The building is approximately 400 square feet and had a second story loft that ended up collapsing, according to the agency, which said the fire did not threaten any other structures.
