DENVER (KDVR) — The Golden Community Center in the city of Golden has reopened, following an “annual maintenance week,” the city announced Saturday.
The city said the community center, which is located just north of Lions Park at 1470 10th St., was “cleaned top to bottom,” freshly painted, recarpeted and “tuned up.”
The community center provides members of the community and visitors with fitness, education and social opportunities, according to the city.
The closure appears to have coincided with a temporary closure of the community center’s pool area, which, according to the city’s website, was closed for “scheduled maintenance and repairs” from Aug. 21 through Sept. 5.
The city said the pool area closure was done in order to make “important” updates necessary to keep the facility “safe, clean, and comfortable for everyone.”
The Golden Community Center is open seven days a week, including from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Thursday, 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Amenities avalable at the community center, according to the city, include:
- Indoor Leisure and Lap Pools
- Hot Tub
- Dry Sauna
- Cardio and Weight Equipment
- Fitness Classes
- Gymnasium
- Indoor Running Track
- Licensed Preschool
- Licensed School-Age and Preschool Camps
- Mature Adult Activity & Gathering Space (Front Porch)
- Education Classes
- Conference Room Space Rentals
The city notes that the pool area — which includes both the hot tub and sauna — closes half an hour before the facility closes, so visitors are urged to “plan accordingly.”
