Local coffee shop closing in Denver for new spot in Littleton

DENVER (KDVR) — A local coffee shop known for its bakery and glass to-go cups is closing its doors in the Virginia Village neighborhood and opening a new spot outside of the city.

Hearth Denver announced on Wednesday that it’s closing its sister company Tablón Coffee Roasters, a coffee shop that roasts its own beans, on South Holly Street in Denver. However, Hearth will be opening up a new location in downtown Littleton.

Hearth has the same Tablón coffee and fresh-baked bread, which it will be taking to the new fourth bakery and cafe at 5610 S Curtice St. in Littleton.

There will still be three Hearth coffee shops in Denver, with locations in the Five Points, City Park West and West Highland neighborhoods, but the sister location won’t be joining the expansion. While Tablón is closing down, that doesn’t mean a complete goodbye. The staff is staying on for the new location.

“Our sister company Tablón will be closing but the team you know and love is moving with us to Littleton so you’ll still see familiar faces behind the bar!” Hearth said on a social media post.

The new location outside of the city will have a full kitchen serving breakfast and lunch daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cafe teased to an expanded menu coming soon as well.

The coffee shop didn’t give an exact opening date, but it did say it was “getting things opening ready” and plans to have it open this fall.
