
DENVER (KDVR) — A man is facing multiple charges, including DUI, after detectives said he hit and killed a pedestrian, then left the scene of the crash without reporting it to authorities over the weekend.
The suspected driver has been arrested, but now investigators are asking the public for more information in an effort to make a timeline of events and find out if there were any other crimes committed.
On Sunday, around 1:42 a.m., Colorado State Patrol investigated a crash near Weld County Road 60.5 and Weld County Road 47, near the Greeley-Weld Airport, where a pedestrian identified as 20-year-old Talia Rodriguez was hit and killed.
The Weld County Sheriff’s Office told FOX31 that the driver was identified as 18-year-old Jose Temoxtle. He was arrested and charged with:
- Vehicular homicide-DUI
- Leaving scene of accident involving death
- Failure to report accident-call police (two counts)
- DUI
- DUI per se
The sheriff’s office said more charges could be added.
