DENVER (KDVR) — A new resource hub has been created to support students, staff and community members after the shooting a Evergreen High School on Sept. 10.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the National Center for Mass Violence, created the Evergreen Virtual Resiliency Center, a website with a number of resources for students, staff, family and community members impacted by the shooting.
The Evergreen Virtual Resiliency Center provides information and support related to the following:
- Victim and social services
- Social connection and empowerment
- Health and wellness
- Managing trauma
The 1st Judicial District Crime Victim Compensation Program is also providing financial assistance to eligible victims and witnesses of crimes to help cover the costs of therapy, medical care and lost wages. The program was created to support victims and witnesses in recovery by easing financial burdens.
If community members need additional services or resources, they are asked to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Victim Services Unit. During business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., people are asked to contact the victim services unit at (303) 271-5339 or [email protected]. For after-hours assistance, people are asked to contact Jeffcom at (303) 980-7300.
