DENVER (KDVR) — It’s arguably the “hoppiest” time of the year for beer lovers: Oktoberfest is here, and Colorado has lots of events and locally brewed beers to celebrate with.
Oktoberfest started in Munich and has become a worldwide beer festival that celebrates Bavarian culture each fall. This year, the celebration is set for Sept. 20 through Oct. 5, but there will be lots of events outside of that window, too.
The events have things to attract anyone’s interest, many include vendors, live music and stein hoisting competitions, and there are even gluten-free events.
Here are some of the major Oktoberfest events happening around Colorado

The Denver Oktoberfest and Vail Oktoberfest are in the running for USA Today’s 10 Best list. Votes can be cast online before voting ends on the morning of Monday, Sept. 8.
Many events are not listed above. Coloradans may want to check with their favorite breweries, as many will be hosting their own Oktoberfest events in the coming weeks.
The Colorado Brewers Guild has also put together a list of Oktoberfest celebrations happening around Denver and at breweries across the state.
