DENVER (KDVR) — A pedestrian was hit and injured by a motor vehicle in Vail on Thursday afternoon, according to the Vail Police Department.
The crash was reported at about 5 p.m. just west of the Sandstone Roundabout on South Frontage Road.
Police said the pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was transported for care at Vail Health.
The motor vehicle driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. The crash closed South Frontage Road West between the roundabout and Westhaven Drive, but police said the roadway is expected to reopen by 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The Vail Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, Eagle County Paramedic Services and Vail Public Safety Communications Center all assisted with the crash investigation.
