DENVER (KDVR) — The newest way of dating — where people vouch for their single friends via PowerPoint — has taken Denver by storm, and now, Denver’s largest singles event is set to take place this Friday in McGregor Square.
Pitch-A-Friend is a trending event where friends tell the crowd why they should date their friend. This comes from a slide show showing their best, worst, and funniest qualities, with anything from being a proud dog dad to an avid hiker.
The trend started in Philadelphia in 2020 when two girls wanted to pitch some of their single friends and needed a space to do it. Now, it’s grown across the nation and started up in Denver in mid-December 2024, according to chapter host Amanda Borowski.
Pitch-A-Friend in Denver has hosted events in many bars, filling up the space quickly. But now, it’s moving to a bigger space — McGregor Square.
McGregor Square is a plaza with several restaurants in downtown Denver that’s known to host watch parties for big-name teams like the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. However, after the singles event has left bars packed and gained more and more singles, it’s set to take over McGregor Square this Friday.
And yes, those presentations will be on the Jumbotron.
This event is bigger than normal events; it’s actually Denver’s largest singles event, according to Pitch-A-Friend, and will have 15 pitches, as well as pet adoption pitches, mini speed dating and mingling activities.
The event is set to start at 5:30 p.m. While it’s too late to present your single friend on the Jumbotron, it’s a free and open event.
