DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Broncos fans are encouraged to use Regional Transportation District rail and bus services before and after the team’s game against the New York Giants at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday.
RTD said it expects there will be an increase in ridership due to the game — which kicks off at 2:05 p.m. — and encouraged riders to be patient and “prepare for large crowds,” particularly after the game is over.
The agency said there will be regularly scheduled service before and after the game at Empower Field at Mile High Station on the D, E and W rail lines, as well as A, B, G and N rail lines providing service to Denver Union Station.
Riders who take the H Line must transfer to/from the E Line at Southmoor Station, RTD noted.
In terms of bus service, several local routes will be available to help accommodate the football game attendees, with bus routes operating in the vicinity of the stadium, including Route 30 at South Federal Boulevard and Route 31 at North Federal Boulevard.
Bus routes 1, 15L, 16 and 31 will also be serving Decatur Federal Station, while riders looking to transfer to the D, E, or W lines at Denver Union Station can use the Flatiron Flyer and local routes 0, 9, 10, 15, 20 and 32, RTD said.
RTD noted that Auroria West Station will be closed by 12:05 p.m. to account for the expected large increase in crowds. Riders are asked to use the Empower Field at Mile High Station instead.
Auroria West Station will reopen at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to RTD.
Fans planning to attend the game are encouraged to use RTD’s Next Ride trip planning tool, which can show all available transit options from a rider’s current location to Empower Field.
RTD said riders can type “Broncos” in the trip planning tool’s destination field to see a list of all train lines and bus routes serving the stadium and future departure times from their current location.
