(FREMONT COUNTY, Colo.) — A suspect and a Fremont County deputy have both been sent to the hospital with unknown injuries following a standoff and officer-involved shooting in Cañon City.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), on Friday evening, Aug. 29, deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call originating in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street, in the Lincoln Park area of Cañon City.
Once on scene, the responding deputy advised shots had been fired. The suspect then apparently barricaded themselves inside the home.
FCSO said after several hours, both the suspect and an FCSO deputy were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident and confirmed to FOX21 News that an officer-involved shooting had occurred.
