DENVER (KDVR) — It’s officially fall in Denver, which means changing leaves, pumpkin spice drinks, and the start of spooky season. If you’re looking to jumpstart the season with a scare, you won’t have to go far to find one of the best haunted houses in the country.
FrightFind, which finds the scariest things near you, released a list of the top haunted houses in America in 2025. From the list of the best ones in each state, including anything from a gigantic clown room in Alaska to a haunted farmstead in South Carolina, one Colorado haunted house joined the ranking.
The 13th Floor in Denver’s Elyria Swansea neighborhood ranked as the best haunted house in Colorado and among the best in America.

This isn’t the first time The 13th Floor has ranked as one of the best haunted houses. FrightFind named The 13th Floor as the top haunted house in Colorado in 2023. USA TODAY has also previously named it as one of the top five scariest in the country.
The ranking said Haunted Field of Screams in Thornton was the runner-up in Colorado. There are several other haunted attractions in the state, including Terror in the Corn in Erie and The Frightmare Compound in Westminster.
