DENVER (KDVR) — Even with the announcement of a new Denver Broncos stadium, Empower Field at Mile High Stadium’s heyday isn’t over yet. The downtown stadium just announced a concert next summer.
Ed Sheeran announced that he would be performing in Denver at Empower Field in the summer of 2026. Sheeran, known for hit songs like “Shape of You” and “Thinking Out Loud,” will stop in Denver during the “LOOP Tour,” which starts in New Zealand and Australia in January.
Sheeran became popular with hit singles like “The A Team” in 2011. Since then, Sheeran has won several Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
This announcement comes just after the Broncos and the city announced plans for a new stadium in Burnham Yard. However, this plan is still far out, and the stadium is still hosting events, including the Broncos during the 2025 season, and another concert.
Empower Field hosts a select few concerts each year. This year, Coldplay, Post Malone and Metallica were some headliners that came to the Broncos Stadium, which holds more than 70,000 people. The last time Sheeran came to Empower Field, he set a record for single-night concert attendance at the venue on his “Mathematics Tour” in 2023, according to the Broncos.
Now, he’s back on July 4, 2026.
