DENVER (KDVR) — A large “train fire incident” burning in Laramie County, Wyo. early Sunday morning could be seen into Colorado as far as Loveland, according to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post that officials confirmed the fire was not burning in Larimer County and advised residents not to call 911 to report that fire.
Cheyenne Fire Rescue in a Facebook post confirmed the fire involved a “train fire incident” and that at least one hazmat team was responding to the fire, though the fire agency said, “there is currently no threat to the public.”
Cheyenne Fire Rescue said there are no evacuations in place.
Union Pacific was present at the scene, according to the fire agency, but it did not say if the train belonged to Union Pacific.
The fire agency also did not say exactly what happened in the incident.
FOX31 has reached out to Union Pacific for more information.
